What’s Wrong With You?

For a number of months now my wife has been less than a good stepford wife. A good book once in a while is a good thing. Lately, it seems, all she wants to do is read. She’s letting a lot of stuff go. She’s not keeping up with keeping up. She’s not taking care of herself. She seems to be sick a lot. She’s become less interested in our “relationship” (male perspective). It seems like there’s something wrong, but I can’t really put a finger on it. Neither can she.

More recently she’s had a lot of pain in her back. Now she’s hardly getting any exercise at all. The pain seems to be sapping her energy even more. We’ve got hot water bottles leaking in the bed. She’s seeing a massage therapist and a chiropractor. It seems to help a little. It’s all very annoying and we both hope she figures out what’s wrong with her.

For sure it seems like there’s something wrong. She’ll ask her doctor at her upcoming annual physical.

  1. Hi George!

I'm so particular; I had a grammar error, and I couldn't publish my message like that. What would Susan say? She's such an awesome teacher! Awhile back, I nominated her as teacher of the year at Walmart, but what do they know? I'm fortunate that she was both Aaron and Naomi's teacher. Elise will be in 5th in 2010, and then Susan will have had all three of my kids.

Back to my original message: I cried after reading your blog. I know what you're going through, as I lost my mother to cancer 5 years ago. Whenever anyone is in this situation, it brings my emotions to the forefront. Your world changed in a day. It's surreal, and both mentally and physically exhausting. Suddenly you realize all you've taken for granted. Your energy goes toward being strong for your loved one. Susan is an amazing woman; Take care of yourself George, so you can take care of her, like you always have. I don't recall any man showering his wife with so many flowers. God bless you. May He continue to lift you and your family during this trying time.

    With sincerity,
    Lori Garcia(Higgs)
