Did I really want to see the further issues/advice but I'm glad I did! Having quite a morbid/wicked sense of humour I was wildly amused by Sandy's comment and now have an image of a dazed looking widower being pounced upon by 'dressed for church' harlots!

When my dad died, who I just adored, I went back to work straight away (not the next day but the day after) and I know some people thought this was uncaring but you just do what whatever you need to to get you out of bed in a morning. You're never that far from my thoughts. She had been the one handling their finances and doing all the house work, so not much transition there. The day after the funeral she had me take all Dad's clothes down to the MCC thrift shop in Newton. I thought that was a bit precipitous, but I obeyed. "Why wait?" she said. That turned out to be a good choice for her. It took years to clean out his office and other areas she didn't use.DuaneRH @ peacemaking.comhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17860517050254269392noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7011190064765587212.post-73598806332477869412010-04-23T10:21:37.173-07:002010-04-23T10:21:37.173-07:00Your aversion to large social gatherings is probab...Your aversion to large social gatherings is probably a good one - for right now anyhow. I was single for a long time and in my church I had to witness the somewhat disgraceful jockeying for position by other single women when a widower appeared at social events.
Truly God does know what we want and need and "in due time" he provides...Sandyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02265922352726668243noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7011190064765587212.post-14160869678957439392010-04-23T10:00:30.618-07:002010-04-23T10:00:30.618-07:00Grandma G.
